Time to ….. GET POLISHED
Like wasps at a picnic, when the sun comes out so do toes. Gnarled feet and chipped nails poking through peep-toes, spilling over flip-flops? You’ve seen them; you may even have them. Don’t kid yourself that people won’t notice. The most effortless way to get pretty feet ( especially if you don’t have a fervent pedi habit in place ) is to go for gel nails. Trust us. These are not the clunky fake-nail acrylics of old. The new generation of gels paint on like polish, set in seconds under a UV lamp, and are as hard as the other kind of nails and shinier than the Duchess of Cambridge’s hair.
The one to go for there are quite a few out there is GELeration by Jessica. LA-based Jessica Nails has a religious following across the pond. Their GELeration polishes slipped quietly onto the scene here last summer and have become a cult hit. Book in for a pedicure, £45, with nail wunderkind Jessica ( yes , just a coincidence ) at MaximilianoCentini, SW6 (www.maxcentini.com or 02073841450). Pick from one of the 46 colours – corally Dynamic is bright and brilliant.
They say it lasts four weeks, but we’ve been known to keep ours on for double that ( much to the horror of top pedicurist Bastien see overleaf ). Don’t leave it too long, though. No one wants to play footsie with a cloven hoof.
